2011 In Review

It has been ages since my last post, and SO much has happened!

I'll sum it up with this:

Meet Noah Alexander! He was born September 7, 2011 at 35.5 weeks due to pPROM. He weighed 6 lbs, 15 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. We were so lucky to conceive him on our fourth round of Clomid. The pregnancy was very uneventful, which was a huge blessing. I actually didn't expect the BFP that cycle, because I didn't really feel any different than usual. However, a few days before I tested, I was awfully exhausted even though I was getting good sleep, and on the night before I tested, I had 30 minutes of very intense, sharp cramping (that I now attribute to implantation).

Now that he's here, our lives have been turned upside down, and (mostly) all for the better. I developed PPD about 5-6 weeks postpartum, and have been dealing with that for a few months. We attempted medication which worked wonders, but at $140/mo., just wasn't in our budget. So, we've been doing our best to make sure help is available (by way of my in-laws and sister) if I need it, and I'm doing my best to accept the help when I need it (I'm bad at asking for help because I don't want to feel like I'm taking advantage of them). Matthew also gives me breaks to just chill while he takes care of Noah, which is so helpful and greatly appreciated.

He's already grown so much, and it makes me excited for the future while looking back at the past and feeling bittersweet. He's so alert now, constantly smiling and giggling. He's already grown out of most of his 3-month clothes, and even some 3-6mo clothes are a bit snug. He can bear weight on his legs really well, although his arms are a different issues (the boy HATES tummy time...he either screams his head off or goes to sleep, doesn't even try to push himself up).

I'm looking forward to 2012. We've got a few vacations planned, and I'm so excited to experience them all now as a mommy. :)
